What Are We Doing???

Here are some pictures of the students. These are pictures of the students decorating their schultutes during the first day of school. We filled them with candy afterwards and the students learned about the first day of school tradition in other countries.

In addition, here are our 3 branches of government trees! The students were really creative in developing their assignment. Each group was given 2 sheets of brown construction paper and 3 green leaves. The trees turned out wonderful!!!

Welcome Back!!!

I am so excited about this school year and my new flock of students!!! Thanks for attending “Open House” this evening.  It was a pleasure meeting all of you.  I look forward to working with you and watching your child grow in achievement and learning.

As mentioned at open house, here is the link to “Read to Feed”.  We would like to donate $.50 for every 1 AR point earned.  If you can donate more, that would be great.

Students will be receiving booklets with sponsor forms and information about this project next week.  If you have questions, feel free to email me.

Please navigate our class website. I will update this site as things change.  Next week, I will add our homework packet, spelling and vocabulary words so that you are up to date on what we are studying in the classroom. I welcome any new ideas!  🙂

Verb Quiz on October 12, 2012

On Friday, we will have a short verb quiz.  The material that will be tested:

Verb tenses-present, past, and future.  Present tense verbs tell what the subject is doing in the present.  It may also have “s” on it to agree with the subject.  Past tense verbs tell what the subject has already done.  There is usually “ed” at the end.  In addition, some past tense verbs look different from their present tense form.  For example:  go (present), went (past).

Last but not least, future tense verbs tell what the subject is going to do.  Put the special verb, “will”, in front of the verb to show future tense.

The quiz will contain 10 multiple choice questions.  Good luck! I am sure the students will do fine.  We have been working on verbs all week. Have a great evening……
